The International Fisheries Science Prize (IFSP) honors an organization or an individual who has made a significant contribution to global fisheries science or conservation. The IFSP is presented at the World Fisheries Congress every four years. The International Fisheries Section of the American Fisheries Society administers the IFSP, and it is funded by the World Council of Fisheries Societies.
Nominations for the IFSP have no restrictions, and are encouraged from all countries. Individuals who belong to member societies of the World Council of Fisheries Societies are eligible to make nominations.
Selection criteria include: Candidate’s curriculum vitae, references, and the breadth, significance, and duration of the candidate’s achievements, especially those of a global perspective and scope.
Nominations for the 2024 IFSP must be submitted to the International Fisheries Science Prize Committee and received by 11:59 PM Pacific Standard Time, 31 January 2023. For more information and to submit a nomination, click here.
