Upcoming 9th World Fisheries Congress in Seattle, Washington 2024

The upcoming 9th World Fisheries Congress (WFC) will be held in Seattle, Washington, USA, from March 3–9, 2024.

Seattle, located in the Pacific Northwest of the United State, is a world-class city with easy global travel access and many wonderful attractions. The city is also at the center of internationally important marine and anadromous fisheries, and has deep cultural, academic, and socioeconomic ties to fish and fisheries.

The theme of the 2024 WFC will be “Fish and Fisheries at the Nexus of the Food-Water-Energy Nexus.” The goal of the 2024 WFC will be to focus on current and emerging impacts on the world’s fish and fisheries and examine how society can successfully develop approaches that allow our marine and freshwater systems to provide sustainable fish and fisheries into the future. Members of the International Program Committee are currently working to refine the conference themes, develop conference content, and promote the conference through appropriate networks.
